With rosehip oil being a naturally occurring product, its

Why colour is key
There are two main extraction methods which are commonly used during processing. With it playing a key role in the final product quality, it’s worth researching company websites to find out if the process is heat and solvent-free, and whether testing has been carried out to guarantee the concentration of natural actives in the oil.
Heat or solvent aided (e.g. petroleum or alcohol) extraction
Higher volumes of seed (and sometimes fruit oil) are quickly and effectively extracted with these methods, which commercially sounds good, right? The catch with these methods is are that they damage and neutralise bio-active properties, lessening the skin-loving benefits of the oil.
This is regarded the most natural and gentle oil extraction method. Seeds are separated from the fruit are mechanically pressed without exposure to high temperatures or chemicals. Whilst this process is slower and yields a lower volume of oil, it delivers a pure, super concentrated product and doesn’t degrade the bio-actives that deliver restorative benefits to skin.
